Gold reaches ₹1,46,600 per 10 grams and silver climbs to ₹1.93 lakh per kilogram amid festive demand, global market gains and shifting economic expectations.

NEW DELHI, November 4, 2026 (GKM Media): Gold and silver prices recorded substantial gains in the national capital on Wednesday, with gold rising by ₹4,800 per 10 grams and silver advancing by ₹9,000 per kilogram, according to figures attributed to the All India Sarafa Association.

Gold of 99.9% purity increased from ₹1,41,800 in the previous trading session to ₹1,46,600 per 10 grams, inclusive of taxes. Silver rose from ₹1,84,000 to ₹1,93,000 per kilogram.

The increases represent approximately 3.4% for gold and 4.9% for silver in a single trading session.

What Is Driving Gold and Silver Prices Higher?

Market analysts have linked the gains to a combination of stronger international bullion prices, seasonal jewellery demand and changes in global financial-market expectations.

India’s festive and wedding seasons traditionally support demand for physical gold, particularly among households purchasing jewellery and investors seeking exposure to precious metals.

The international gold market has also been influenced by movements in the US dollar, government bond yields and expectations surrounding the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy.

A weaker dollar can make dollar-denominated gold more affordable for buyers using other currencies, although the relationship is not consistent in every trading session.

Global Economic Uncertainty in Focus

Investors are closely monitoring political developments in the United States following the November midterm elections.

Changes in expectations about US fiscal policy, interest rates and economic growth could influence investor demand for safe-haven assets, including gold.

However, analysts caution that bullion prices respond to multiple economic factors, and individual political developments cannot automatically be identified as the sole cause of market movements.

What Does the Price Increase Mean for Consumers?

The latest gains could increase costs for Indian families planning jewellery purchases ahead of weddings and religious celebrations.

For existing gold holders, higher market prices may increase the value of their holdings, although actual resale proceeds depend on purity, dealer margins and other charges.

Jewellery buyers should also account for making charges and applicable taxes when comparing retail prices.

Market Outlook: Will Gold Prices Rise Further?

The direction of gold and silver prices in the coming sessions will depend on several factors, including:

● US dollar movements and Federal Reserve policy expectations.

● International gold and silver demand.

● US Treasury bond yields.

● Indian rupee exchange-rate fluctuations.

● Domestic festive and wedding-season demand.

Market participants are expected to remain attentive to global economic developments, with further volatility possible in both precious metals.
