Privacy Policy

Scope and contact

This notice describes the public website at news.gkmmedia.com, operated by GKM Media Production Inc. It does not replace the separate privacy notices for Aaj Di Khabar, GKM TV, GKM Radio, WordPress, Google, YouTube or other services you visit. GKM Media is based in British Columbia; privacy rights and requirements depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

Information handled by this website

If you email or call GKM, we receive the contact details and message you choose to provide, including any files or links you send. Website hosting and WordPress services may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps and security events to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose problems. Do not send highly sensitive personal information unless an editor has arranged a suitable way to receive it.

Measurement and embedded media

A Google tag is present on the site for measurement services configured by the site owner. Optional analytics storage is denied by default. If you allow analytics through the site’s cookie notice, Google may process information about visits and interactions. When analytics storage is denied, Google’s consent-aware tag may still send limited signals without analytics cookies, depending on its configuration. You can review Google’s Privacy Policy.

Some pages load embedded video or other material from providers such as YouTube. Those providers receive technical information when their content is requested and apply their own privacy practices. Your GKM cookie choice does not control their separate services. Review the provider’s notice and settings when using an embedded player.

How information is used and shared

GKM uses messages sent to the newsroom to respond, assess story leads, investigate correction requests and manage business enquiries. Technical information supports site delivery, security and, when permitted by your choice, audience measurement. Information may be handled by the website, hosting and service providers needed for those purposes, and may be processed outside Canada under a provider’s own arrangements. GKM does not sell contact information submitted directly to the newsroom.

Retention, security and your choices

Messages and records are kept for as long as needed for their stated purpose, newsroom accountability, business records or legal requirements. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You may contact GKM to ask about personal information you sent, request access or correction, or withdraw a consent choice where applicable. We may need to verify your identity and consider legal or journalistic recordkeeping obligations before responding.

To change analytics consent, use Cookie settings in the footer. Read the Cookie Policy for storage details. For a privacy question, email info@gkmmedia.com or call +1 (604) 723-8027.
