Foundation-Laying Ceremony Marks the Beginning of Construction of the New Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara Building in Surrey
Surrey, B.C. — Construction of the new building of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara Surrey has officially begun following a special foundation-laying ceremony held in the presence of the Panj Pyare and members of the Sikh community.
During the ceremony, Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Ji, Hazooria of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar, performed the inaugural Ardas for the beginning of the construction. The ceremony was conducted according to Sikh religious traditions and was attended by a large gathering of Sikh Sangat.
The event was also attended by B.C. Premier David Eby and members of his cabinet, including Minister Jagrup Brar, Amna Shah, Garry Bagg, Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke and members of Surrey City Council, Canadian Senator Baltej Singh Dhillon, Members of Parliament Sukh Dhaliwal and Randeep Singh Sarai, along with representatives of various Sikh organizations.
The foundation-laying ceremony was marked by Ardas, Sikh religious traditions and the resounding Jaikaras of the Sangat, making the occasion a memorable one for the Surrey Sikh community.
The new building project is expected to provide an important space for religious, community and cultural activities and represents a significant development for the Sri Guru Singh Sabha community in Surrey.
